Fire breaks out in residential building in Lisbon. Residents removed

Fire in Calçada Nova do Colégio led to the mobilization of 40 operatives and 15 vehicles of the Lisbon Sappers.

It broke out, this Monday, a fire in a residential building in Calçada Nova do Colégio, in downtown Lisbon, near the hospital of St. Joseph. On site are several means to fight the fire, including elements of the Lisbon Fire Department, as the News to the Minute found.

The alert was given at 20:55 and are on site 40 operational and 15 vehicles of the same body of fire Lisbon.

The building has since been evacuated and 26 people were removed, said the Lieutenant Colonel of the Sappers Fire Department to the media on site. There are no injuries to report.

Source of the Public Security Police (PSP), which is also on site, said that the Judicial Police was triggered.

The fire – which has broken out with great speed – was spotted by several neighbors and people near this building in downtown Lisbon, that quickly published in social networks images of it.
